All this rubbish about sustaiable energy.

I remember well the oil crises of the 1970's when we were in trouble
about oil supplies. A local(Irish) newspaper had a cartoon proposing
that oil be made from local peat. The only problem was that it would
take 2.5 gallons of real oil to make a gallon of synthetic!..

At the present time the british government is feuling the big power
station in Yorkshire with Biomass (crap trees) shipped from the US and
even Australia. Not sustainable at all, but good for the people who own
the forests.

Micheal Moore produced a program about this, and he was in danger of
being lynched.

Fuel oil and gas are going to run out at some time, that is the real
problem. We should limiit the amount of cars owned by people who live
in cities, they have alternatives.

The prooblem is going to be worse in Europe, where there are heavy
taxes on oil for cars, of all sorts, when most cars are electric, where
are governments going to get that money from?..

How long did the synthetic fuel suppliers last in Germany after the war
was over?..

The thing is, the more fossil fuels we consume, the greater the cost
of extraction. Eventually alternatives will cost less than the fossil
fuels and the market will move to alternatives. But the do-gooders
can't just wait for this to happen naturally, to them it has to all
happen RIGHT NOW THIS INSTANT.

Here in the US, it was a big fake. Gasoline wasn't being delivered to
gas stations. Unmarked tanker trucks were putting gasoline into closed
gas station tanks. One of my relatives was a tug boat captain, he died
a few years ago, told us he had barges of gasoline and wasn't allowed
to dock and unload it. This was on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
