Bought a second hand book, long discharged from the library
at AERE Harwell, and there, as a book mark is a job card
for a program execution, with the handwritten notes saying that
the run time should be under 30 secs and that the Atlas II should
be used. User's name was Gill, year - mid 1960s.

Ring a bell with anyone?

Stan Gill was involved in Ferranti Atlas I and II development.

Stan Gill worked on EDSAC with Maurice Wilkes:

Stan Gill was co-author of perhaps the first program preparation book:

_Preparation of Programs for an Electronic Digital Computer_,
Addison-Wesley, 1951, Maurice Wilkes, David Wheeler, and Stanley Gill

least could be seen when I visited in 2019.

For those unable to make the pilgrimage, I believe it's on Bitsavers.
